FAQs for our Backups feature

All backups in Glow are powered by UpdraftPlus, the most trusted and reliable backup solution in WordPress. For each site where you want to enable backups, simply install the UpdraftPlus plugin (which Glow will do for you).

Once setup is complete, Glow will keep a record of all backups and confirm what was included in each one (eg. database only or database and plugins etc.). You're also able to alter the backup schedule from within Glow, as well as have backup information included in client reports.

You choose the 3rd party storage location for your backups. There are many options to choose from, including Google Drive, Amazon S3, Dropbox, Rackspace and more.

You're able to schedule backups to run as often as every 2 hours.

Yes. There's a backups section that you can choose to include in client reports. The report will display the backup frequency, the number of backups taken over the period of the report and indicate when the most recent backup was completed.

Yep. Using the UpdraftPlus interface, you can restore any backup.

There is no maximum site size and UpdraftPlus has been known to successfully backup sites of up to 100GB.

Yes. Whenever you need to take a new backup, outside of the normal schedule, simply click the 'Backup now' button in Glow.

Yep. For any currently held backup, you can download the files to your local computer.

No, you only need a Glow account. Although Glow's backups are powered by UpdraftPlus, there is no requirement for you to buy an extra subscription with them, in order for the backups to run.
